About Me
I am a bicultural and bilingual Licensed Clinical Psychologist born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I graduated from the Carlos Albizu University where I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. In 2002 I relocated to New York City where I started providing psychotherapy services to adults, children, adolescents and their families in a variety of settings including, community mental health clinics, day treatment programs, schools, primary care and foster care programs. My work has also included supervision of psychology externs and interns.
I have over seven years of psychotherapy experience and in all this time I have developed a true passion for helping individuals and families to restore warmer, stronger emotional bonds. I have worked with many individuals, couples and families to resolve conflicts, to become closer, to manage to improve their communication skills and to develop a better understanding of each other as well as with themselves. I am interested in working with people who face life challenges such as acculturation, migration, relationship break-ups, puberty/adolescent challenges, marriage, remarriage and divorce.
As a compassionate and caring therapist, I will work with you to develop new ways of thinking and relating not only to others, but to yourself as well. I will provide a warm, safe, culturally sensitive and supportive environment for you to explore the areas of your life that you feel need to change.
Are you ready to start feeling better about yourself? Are you ready to feel more connected to your family? Then please do not hesitate to contact me. Together we can find new ways to a better life.
I look forward to the opportunity to work with you!
